Sultana Monument Commission investigation, 1906.

Contains testimony regarding an investigation of the Sultana Monument Commission which was accused of favoritism in awarding the monument contract. The commission was created to build a monument on the State Capitol grounds to commemorate the 522 soldiers from Ohio who died when the ship Sultana exploded on the Mississippi River on April 27, 1865. Most of the soldiers were former prisoners of war.
